Dear Van Gorder Families,

Welcome to Van Gorder Elementary School! My name is Rebecca Bruemmer, and I am honored and excited to serve as your principal.

I bring 18 years of experience in education and have had the privilege of serving as a kindergarten teacher, instructional coach, dean of students, and assistant principal at both the elementary and middle school levels. Each of these roles has reinforced my belief that strong relationships, high expectations, and a positive school culture are the foundation for student success.

As a wife and mother of three boys, I understand the trust families place in schools every day. At Van Gorder, we are committed to creating an environment where every student feels safe, supported, challenged, and valued. We want our students to love coming to school, take pride in their learning, and believe in their ability to achieve great things.

Our dedicated staff works hard each day to provide meaningful learning experiences while building caring relationships with students and families. Together, we will help students grow academically, socially, and emotionally. We will work hard, learn a lot, celebrate successes, and have fun along the way.

I believe that education is most successful when schools and families partner together. Whether you are new to Van Gorder or have been part of our community for years, I encourage you to stay connected, get involved, and reach out whenever you have questions or concerns. Your partnership is an important part of our success.

I am incredibly excited to meet our students and families and to begin this journey together. Van Gorder is a special place, and I look forward to building upon the strong tradition of excellence that already exists within our school community.
